ST LOUISE EYE CLINIC

7th team this year

After their stay at St. Louise from 29th September to 15th October, team members Dr. Ignacio Vinuesa, Dra. Maria Sol Guilloto and Assistant Luis Villalba have returned to Algeciras.

As usual they have worked hand in hand with our Cataract Surgeon Mr. Berhano and all other members of the Clinic’s staff, this has made it possible to see all patients with every degree of care and professionality.

This seventh team may possibly be the last one this year as we cannot confirm the eight which had been programmed. In any case it will have been an outstanding year, both from the point of view of the number of doctors who have travelled to St. Louise and for the work they have carried out.

Sixth team this year

Dr. Antoni Sabala and Nurse Mrs.Susana Gonzalez have spent a couple of weeks, from 23rd July to 6th August working at St.Louise Eye Clinic . As usual, there were many patients to take care of . Working closely together with the Clinic’s staff they scheduled the patients' visits and performed surgeries on over 90 patients. They also carried out some training tasks and organised the equipment and medication. They have much enjoyed their time and work at the Clinic and are looking forward to returning in the future. Congratulations on the good job !

Third team 2017

Once again this year, Dr. Vito Mariella has been working at St.Louise Eye Clinic , from 27th April to 5th May, with our Cataract Surgeon Mr. Berhano as usual.
Dr. Mariella has performed a great number of cataract surgeries and also dealt with other pathologies such as glaucoma . Without him being there this would not have been possible or treatments would have had to be postponed.

Our first team

From 6th to 18th February Dra. Maria Teresa Pastor, Dra, Maria José Mira and Nurse Ms. Carmen Garcia Olmo have been working at St.Louise Eye Clinic , together with our Cataract Surgeon Mr. Berhano who continues carrying out a magnificent task .performing a great number of surgeries with every degree of competence and professionalism.

This is the first of the seven teams scheduled for this year, 2017. We are resuming our usual activities after a difficult and complex 2016, due to the very demanding bureaucratic procedures we had to face last year.

" CLINICAL -SURGICAL OPTHTALMOLOGICAL , FROM THEORY TO PRACTICE"

Profits of the edition going to Proyecto Visión.

The Opthtalmological Service at the University Hospital Virgen de Macarena in Sevilla has a long standing clinical- surgical history in its field. This book aiims at compiling some of the most relevant cases treated in the last few years. They have been grouped by ophthalmological subspecialities . Each case is preceded by a theoretical introduction which goes on to present the clinical and/or surgical case, followed by some short conclusions. This eminently practical approach intends to interest the reader from the very first page.

The profits derived from the sale of the book are to be fully donated to two bodies carrying out an immense task in the field of eye care in the less developed countries: Proyecto Visión and the Fundación la Arruzafa.
